Subject of Subject not counting towards world conquest

New to the forum so I wasn't really sure where to post this. Was considering the bug report section at first before realising that this is more of a oversight or perhaps sadistic punishment that a bug.

In 1817 600 ships of the imperial navy arrived at Ryukyu to snuff out the final free state only to discover that the world conquest was not complete because Britain and Portugal CN didn't count as mine even though their masters were my vassals.

Obviously this got me quite annoyed, wondering what others thought of it

This is intentional. Usually people ask for that in advance and get informed about it. It sucks you found out this way, but good luck next time

Happens with PU's as well. Luckily for me, I got a magical inheritance of England in my first WC run.

I did Florence -> Tuscany -> Italy -> Hre -> revolution
Not really sure why it chose the Italian flag though

First - at the release of game World Conquest meant that you had to be last country standing, later with introduction of Colonial Nations they changed it so that your direct subject count as well. One could argue that subject of subject should count, but as there is old saying that vassal of my vassal is not my vassal. Can you actually say that you conquered world while someone responds to someone else and not to you?

For direct logic - maybe subject is subject of ROOT* doesn't work as well, or maybe pdx doesn't want to trivalize WC even more. Unless we directly ask PDX we will not know EXACT logic why it is the way it is. So status as of now is that - subject of subject doesn't count. Work around this, or keep it mind (integrate your subjects and then get their CN's, or kill earlier, or first kill CN's get own CN's in place there, then make subjects of former colonizers).

if you rollback and do 'offer' peace deal with ryukyu that cancels britain and portugal as vassals..

then there might be small chance you can reconquer them with truce breaking in time (including their CN, full annexing them makes their CN your CN), before december 1820.

Actually, he can directly cancel vassalage and declare war. Not sure if truce breaking is needed though.

Edit: Just fact-checked the wiki. Apparently need to have positive prestige as well

true, but you will lose stability on cancelling vassals the normal way. Unless you have diplomatic ideas filled maybe... Then it might be doable for free, if you have positive prestige.

Or did they change it?

From wiki: -25 prestige and -200 relations, no mention about stab hit.

Edit: confirmed this from testing it in game. It's -25 prestige and -200 relations, and a truce is created as well.
