Subject forcelimits contribution, does it count for colonies?

I'm considering to take Influence ideas with my Netherlands playthrough solely because of this idea. I'd like to make sure it actually works for colonies before wasting an idea slot on it. If anyone could answer this for me it would be greatly appreciated.

All your subjects (Colonial Nation in this case) give you additional forcelimit which is % of their own forcelimit. Influence increaces forcelimit that you contribute from your subjects (CNs).

Yes, it works for both vassals/client states (land FL) and Colonial nations (naval FL). Other subjects don't give any FL, so it has no effect on those.

Thanks. Am I correct to say that it doesn't show specifically in the ui? I loaded a late game Spain bookmark with full influence ideas en it doesn't show up anywhere. I assume it would be added to the "from ports" part of it?

When you say vassals, I assume marches are included in that, right?

Eh sure! I don't have AoW, so I didn't think about marches. To be honest, I'm not even sure if they give land FL, but they probably do.

It does indeed get added to "from provinces" and "from ports" respectively. I've asked for a separate mention of "from subjects" in the tooltip before, but to no avail so far
