Owned CK2 for a bit over two years now and have experienced little to no problems with the game (outside of running the warhammer mod, which is a great mod but just too massive for its own good). However, around mid-May I have run into some persistent stuttering issues that have been following me around.
My specs are:
Windows 10 (64)
CPU Type
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz
Graphics Chipset
AMD Radeon (TM) R9 380 Series 17.6.2 Crimson Drivers 4096MB Memory
16 Gigs Ram
So this is what i've done so far to try and alleviate this problem:
Uninstalled Crusader Kings 2, including all subsequent files in documents and all other places. Reinstalled to no avail after integrity check.
As a subscriber to AVG i've ran a number of virus scans which came back with nothing. Ran Malware Bytes, came back with nothing.
Re-freshed windows (kept files) nothing fixed. Did a clean boot of windows (wiped the drive) nothing fixed.
Checked hardware with various (and multiple, to be sure) testing methods to see if my PC's physical health was the problem...everything came back green.
Re-seated my motherboard and ram. Nothing fixed.
Played with Windows 10 settings and features ad-nauseum trying to find the sweet spot that others have assured me is out there, with no results.
Any idea's out there?
I suspect this may have something to do with the windows 10 creators update as some people have had some problems with that as well...but its not a universal thing and is very hard to pin-point for those of us afflicted.
One last thing. Every other game I own runs absolutely fine, except this and Star Wars Old Republic, which I know are both CPU intensive.
