Hired the mercenary band that came with the ships in the demo - they cost me 2000 DUCATS a MONTH! 2000! I went into debt immediately! Spawned 6000 damn ships, silly as hell.

Just dispand the ships and its an error in the demo. It should not have that many ships only like 35 or something.
Too late. Lost everything. =( I had England conquered and settled, and was invading Scotland. Needed extra troops so I hired them, n' bam.
