Invading Okinawa VIA Taiwan (just a hop skip and away), and im getting a -66 logistics distance penalty. The 2 regular army dudes sitting in Taiwan show theyre being supplied from Guam, so are other army dudes scattered throughout the pacific islands.

Nooo.

Im supplying Hawaii from the states, and supplying Okinawa from Hawaii, and theres plenty of OIL and SUPPLIES to go around.

*sigh*

clicking it doesnt work. Ok this is wierder then I thought.

Here we go, Okinawa, 2 providences.

#1st providence: Taihoku, I got one regular army dude there, it shows hes being supplied from Guam. Right. I got army dudes, and repairing naval ships in Guam, doing their thing, sitting around, being resupplied regularly, but thats not important now. It should be being supplied from Takao, Taiwan.

2nd providence: Nearby we got Takao, I got another regular army dude there, it shows hes being supplied from HONG KONG! Owned by the japanese I might add. If thats not wierd enough, I also have 18 units of mountain troops in a stack (The dudes I was using to invade Okinawa with), and guess where theyre being supplied from, YEP you guessed it, WAKE ISLAND, which I stopped supplying weeks ago, because I abandoned it because it was really far behind the frontline. I figured, return the 18 mountain specialists to Taiwan, and try to strategically reassign them to, uh, Taiwan, maybe theyll start resupplying from Taiwan, nope, still from WAKE ISLAND. wow.

*Im playing US, hitting Japanese first with all I got, instead of Germany first, which we should have done that in the real war. The japs would have folded like a wet piece of paper.*

Dont get me wrong, this is my favorite game, its just that playing Germany all the time gets borring after a while, ya know ya know ya know.

you have to click on it and transfer all the units to the right to form a new stack - it has to work then.

As to the other part - yea I think there is some kind of bug when it comes to tracing supplies from your allies/puppets

Cant help you with that..

Ok, did what you said, now its supplied from Hong Kong, I guess I should thank the Japanese for all the free supplies.

yea at least the penalty should not be - 66 anymore.

You will also have another problem with a -20% supply penalty once you land in mainland china... I wonder if you link up with hong kong will you still have the problem...

Does this have something to do with "CONTROLLING" providences, instead of "OWNING" them? Owning, meaning, the complete control after annexation or creating a puppet state, or in the case of Hong Kong here, a former ally (britain) still has supplies hanging around HOng Kong?

That doesnt make sense either because either Britain AI is stupid enough to still have a convoy going to Hong Kong, or Japan never free'd Britain of its supply stock in Hong Kong (which must have been huge to last over a year).

I cant really say - I had wierd things happen on the russian/german from - units that were closer to my original territory were supplied from romanian lands with a bigger log. penalty than if it was comming from warsaw.
Frankly I think it has something to do with the way the map is coded and linked in code - there has to be some error there. If you look at the Koshu / Japan supply issue in which you have to ship supplies OUT of china so as to be in supply IN china you will get a feeling how badly something got fu**ed up..

Oh well.. :(

The logistical penalty is calculated from the last owned province your troops were in (owned by you or your allies). It doesn't matter where you send the supplies from.

I don't think this is a bug, though it is a little strange. You can't make an invasion base in territory you don't own. However, without this the penalty wouldn't be in effect for Germans in Soviet.
