Stuck on black screen when I try to run the game

I have had previous issues trying to start Prison Architect ever since I installed the Crowbar Update. First some error appeared, which I did research on and fixed. It was caused because the mods were now outdated. Afterwards, I tried to run the game, and the soundtrack played normally. But I would only see 2 frames of the title screen then it would freeze, while the soundtrack was still playing. Eventually this did stop, but now all I get is some permanent black screen. I am very aware that it's normal for a black screen to appear when loading Prison Architect, and for it to do so for 5 to 20 seconds. But the black screen just stays now. I don't know why exactly, but I can only blame the update and/or the mods' incompatibility (even though I deleted the mods). Please help, I just want to play Prison Architect!

Please try this:

- uninstall PA from Steam
- unsubscribe from all mods in this game's Steam Workshop

Delete the following folders if still present:

- Steam/SteamApps/common/PA
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Introversion/Prison Architect/
(keep any valued save games, of course)
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Now install PA again and see how that goes please!


IF that doesn't help, Please attach here the game log C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect\debug.txt

AND DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
