Duke, perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to mention in the first message of this thread who *actually* played during the 23 Jam session? I mean there was me and Lord Robertus as OE, HG as as China etc. And in the first message of this thread there are also people mentioned who actually were never able to take part during the first session.

I know this is heresy, but it did feel a bit like Tsunami... Basically anybody (or so it did appear to me who was just playing and didn't have to worry about who plays where) who happened to wander by were accepted as a sub. Which was nice

Hmm... Slargos is indeed a good host, so maybe this game could work as sort of a Tsunami game... we have the regulars who, hopefully, will find a sub for themselves if they can't play - and we have the AI nations, which I don't see a reason why they shouldn't be able to be played by some vnet n00b who'd like some more experience.

If we play with the Jan 24th patch, you can pretty much write off China ever participating in European affairs...

The morale changes are huge. 3,000 can easily beat 50 (did so last night, and the countries in question were nearly equal).

In many ways, this patch is as unplayable as Jan 20. The morale is absurdly important now-the other factors that go into battles have become meaningless.

But I'll do it. If nothing else, it'll give Slargos a chance to push me out of India.

I'd like to see the new patch being used until high-techs. I am not entirely sure people are just annoyed their old strategies and tactics are not working anymore. I for one am keen on finding the exploits... errrr.... I mean, advantages available on this patch

We try it out, so we have a reason to bitch about, I playtested it with Austria in SP today and some battle results are strange, but well we will see.

Yes, yes. People are very excited that Slargos, Damo, myself and a few others have to reinvent.

But the truth is, it's a simple formula-you go full land, full quality, full free subjects and full offensive, tech like crazy.

The problem is that naval countries are even less effective in Europe now, and manpower counts for nothing unless the two sides are equal in everything else. For example, if China sends 500,000 men to India, the Mughals will win with 50. It's broken.

But I'm all for a challenge. So, Slarg, bring it on. Maybe with a huge artificial advantage you have a chance in fuck at beating me.

I'd be fighting in India, which is quite a little trip.

It has terrible events and revolts constantly.

The Mughals have (or had) Babur, Akbar and their minions. Excellent events. Pretty decent manpower themselves and better tech.

So all-in-all, it was fair even. Now, of course, it's Forty-Love and five sets to none and the war hasn't even started. But, to be fair, when one takes skill into account, I'd say it's a dead heat.
