No idea about Portugal, but I think France abandoned any idea to struggle for supremacy.

Also, the truce I had at the moment and the fact that while my support limit was about 250k, Damo had about four times that much and much better leaders. Yeah right, if I wish to commit suicide with my nation, I can do it more wisely.

There's always an excuse, Damo. You were awful quick to leap at Cyprus when Spain, France and Austria DoWed me in Reloaded.

I'm just tried of that kind of behaviour as I imagine others are aswell.

And come on, the Cyprus seizure was classic. Since you had just spent the entire session trying to organize a gangbang on ME, but I outmaneuvered you diplomatically so you ended up as my little ally instead. I then joined the fight to protect you, and made France quit by force of will alone, when he desperately wanted Milan. My armies on the Austrian border made FAL give up his plan for Mantua! If it wasn't for a morale bug, Spain would never have gotten Marche. But no, because of me, you not only lost only two provines (One of which, (CYPRUS) was immediately given back!!!) you also benefitted GREATLY from Ottoman friendship, and we both know how! *cough* maps *cough*

Theres more then one side to every issue, and the ones you are presenting are the most extremely one sided. Like an impression of Howard Dean or something.

As an American however, I am accustomed to a lack of gratitude from my Euro friends.

I began the war with 1,450,000 troops and about 600+ manpower saved up.

Even after two years of assaulting 7 large forts with about 18% attrition rate, some of them in mountains, repeatedly to get it done before the rehost, and without any other recruiting, I still had 800k just sitting around near the French border! That was the troop strength that Jarkko showed and did not reflect the huge sacrifice it takes to assault 7 large forts in obscene, southern italian attrition provinces. (Some of the worst in Europe!!!)

Ganja freely admitted he backed off from the Reloaded gangbang because Damo threatened him. I guess he's got balls enough to be honest, eh?

The way I remembered it was thus:

I told Spain and France that if I had to, I would ally with Sweden to retake the Italian provinces they still didn't want to give back. I specifically said this after I was left for the wolves when Sweden, Russia, Brandenburg, Austria and the Ottomans attacked me while Spain refused to assist. I lost several provines to the Ottos and Austrians. (I only got back like Naples and Milan at the very beginning, and that was AFTER I had already fought a war against Ottomans and Austria, and before the war of survival. I spent the last 50 years at war nonstop!). I would either be their first and most important line of defense, considering it was them two vs the world and an extremely dangerous Sweden, or I would join the Swedish alliance and be their worst enemy.

We all know how they decided.

Poland's got manufacturies in all provinces, but large forts? I could only dream of that wealth

(NB I had manufacturies in all provinces a couple of sessions ago, but I lost about ten or so when Austria and Russia turbo-burned a whole bunch of them )

If you want to feel better about Poland, read the Mach II thread and see what I did to the poor Austria. Also, my Poland was more fortified then the 48th parallel. Up until the last 50-75 years of the game where everyone has more ducats then they know what to do with, I invested like 75% of my income in building large forts (which are expensive with full offensive and polish income) and weapon manus in nearly every province.

Of course. In the closing stages of the game, fortifications are nigh meaningless, since you have countries running around with 2,000 artillery and an income 10x your own.

since I was about to stab venice and france, rejoin with austria, iirc I had allready thrown 20k after austria, while venice got nothing, yes I had damo whining every 5 sec. for money

Who was it I took over for in Slargos' last reloaded game? I came in as Venice right after it had just been raped eight ways to sunday and lost like half of italy to Spain and France. There was only 70 years left, but I came in and turned it around to where it was far stronger then either Spain or France at the end, easily in 1st-2nd place, especially after Sweden got its final defeat. Though, it was still pretty solid. The last war which was supposedly to decide the game was still a Venetian-French-Spanish victory, and I carried that alliance to where they ended up giving me everything they took before and then some. I also grabbed like half of Austria as Venice, including Steirmark!

Bah, if you think that was a challenge, prepare for your next subbing task in reloaded! Spain will be tough...very, very tough

In those days Austria could not afford an Ottoman Empire who send it's armies marching to Austria, so I acted actually a bit as a lapdog. I am sure most of your talks were just talks though, but couldn't take the risk.

In the end, that gangbang on Venice ended only with Spain taking MArche and Cyprus to the OE. Cyprus was giving back too. Venice got allied to the Ottoman Empire afterwards and became Austria's main enemy.

For me, it was a classical example how a gangbang did not benefit the gangbangers. And I am not going to do it on that scale again. Should have sticked with just Spain.

What surprises me is that Slargos kept playing after that gangbang, but left the game after he made a small mistake in a war with Austria
In the end, Austria was only able to finally take Venetian provinces after Slargos left

While that gangbang did affect it somewhat, it was not the sole reason for my needing a short break. Infact, the gangbang turned out to be pretty beneficial to Venice.
