Have anybody else's struggle been ending early and by early I mean it's ending in 1038 type early. I thought this would be a system that lasted the entire game because that was basically how long the Reconquista took but that doesn't seem to be happening. Instead of spamming holy wars like I usually do I've been taking my time reconquering Hispania but guess in the meantime that allowed other rulers (the umayyads) time to fill certain conditions to end the struggle. I don't that should be the case I think the struggle should end in the 1300s at the EARLIEST.

It depends if the Umayyads fall apart or not. From what I've seen, if they don't they tend to overrun Hispania. Haven't ended it in my game, but I expect they will soon.

I get it if they literally overrun ALL of Hispania then of course the struggle would end then, but why should it end in the 11th century when they only control 55% of the peninsula?
