It is possible to acquire a trait several times, which currently makes no difference at all. Addtive acquisition of traits could 'strengthen' the trait, marked by a * at the icon (or something similar). It would provide no bonus efect to the stats, but make the trait mor robust against events. Whenever an event would lead to the loss of a trait, a strengthened trait would only lose one of its markers. I think it would emphasize the concept f a character, without adding unbalanced bonus numbers due to traits.
With some aditional work, traits could be linked to an education trait. If you acquire a certain number of strong traits, linked to your active education trait, it could advance one step. Again this should not be too unbalancing but bring some more variation to the currently rather static education traits.
