How to get rid of the stressed trait? It seem to be the biggest killer next to maimed which can easily be avoided. As soon as my main gets stressed they usually have about ten years to live.

Yeah, because anything even remotely adding any difficulty or, gasp, challenge needs to be removed.
You can remove stressed by having a content courtier.. altho its a random event. Just had my Norwegian queen of Ireland's stress removed after a week so its not exactly rare.
I think the OP falls into that special category for whom ritalin is anything but a stimulant.
You want courtiers who are content, also if they are diligent and patient increases the chance of this event firing.

Personally, just like the OP, I was quite annoyed to see so many kings and queens and courtiers die of 'severe stress', even though they were genius or capable or diligent characters.
So I modded the health_events.txt, and also 00_traits.txt :
1. to prevent the 'stressed' to appear so often ('diligent' now guarantees immunity to stress), and
2. to have it so it doesn't affect health as much.
I'm quite content, now -If I may speak so.
What I do when my characters get stressed is:
1. Make sure I'm not above my demesne limit (seems to be the main reason for stress);
2. Mend relations with the family, especially wife and kids;
3. See if most of my vassals/liege like me;
4. Avoid getting into wars.
That usually relaxes my characters. Also, give gifts and choose easygoing decisions at events.
Calling names is not pwnage. Resorting to it in any discussion is a sign of weaknes. Then again, I feel that people who use emotes to convey a point should be neutured for their and this species own good so make of that what you want.
