Just break truces.
Carefully; you may need to watch out for the -5 Diplomacy penalty for being a trucebreaker (which the user interface no longer warns you about!)

I don't own it myself I'm a Scottish cultured zoroastrian courtier so no luck here.

If you are min maxing your retinue and your sisters, then you may not contribute in this discussion!

To be honest, I feel like they didn't really thing too much about it. It's really just a "feeling" request instead of a this is unplayable, fix it.

This is something that seems like could be easily modded and probably already had been. Though I do agree that the excuse of you'll blob too fast with shorter truces is bs. As blobs have been getting safer and more stable for a long while now.

I mean did Jesus say: Thou shall have twice the peace times of the pagan?

In fairness to the game, unreformed pagans can't necessarily utilize the Holy War CB, so they can grab counties every five years, but they aren't gobbling up whole duchies every ten years.

And even when they get the holy war CB upon reforming, it costs them piety to use it. (Some of them? All of them? Can't remember if that applies to them all.)

It costs 100 piety to declare, and you get 100 piety (participation-scaled) when you win.

Plus, of course, winning battles and occupying holdings during an inter-confessional conflict gets you piety.

Whereas it is a net win for Muslims, Christians, and I think all non-pagan faiths.

Plus, you can't start the war if you won't have the piety, whereas other faiths can use a quick holy war to drum up piety.

Getting 100 piety to holy war isn't hard at all as a pagan. You probably already have it by the time you inherit. I've never not been able to holy war due to piety.

Honestly, gregarious Grey Eminence laughs at your penalty.

You still don't want to blow all your prestige. High Dynasty prestige means that your kids later on will be born with the full opinion bonus for high prestige. And the prestige cost really becomes disproportionate to the actual conquest.

All true but you really really don't need that prestige bonus with the diplomacy opinion boost or even without it with how easy it is to manage empires.

Pagans can use County Conquests to bootstrap their piety.

Which fires up the five year truce on the county conquest target.

So, you have to spent time raising the piety, either firing a county conquest war or via some other means. Its just not quite as efficient as the version non-pagans get.

And I have run out of piety before and been unable to launch holy wars as a pagan. Bizarre and ill-timed inheritances, or other problems can zap you to less than 100 piety when you might otherwise want to run a holy war.

Dynasty Prestige is not based on the personal prestige of the leading dynast, but on how many times members of the dynasty have received titles.

I thought whenever any character of your dynasty dies their prestige is added to a pot and then goes through a calculation?

Though I do agree that the excuse of you'll blob too fast with shorter truces is bs. As blobs have been getting safer and more stable for a long while now.

The argument goes about it being unbalanced. If blobs are getting safer, more stable, and arguably more boring then pushing back that point with a soft limit would help things out. So would harder vassal/empire management and things like empires dissolving instead of lasting forever but that's a different story.
