@Groogy is there anyway you can streamline truce timers to 5 years for everyone (and all CB's)? I absolutely hate playing non pagan characters because the 10 year truce timers are just too long. Having to take 200 years (without monarch deaths) to eat Spain is just painful. I really want to play christians and muslim again but those truces... ugh...

Please think about it :)

Edit: maybe keep it 10 years for subjugation, invasion, crusade, jihad, basically everything kingdom targeting.

I'll take it up with the team on Monday if we should have a look at truces, I haven't really thought about them in a long time. But my gut feeling is that we are happy with how it is right now, its already too easy to blob and don't see a reason why we should make it easier.

Also there's the option of murdering the ruler you have a truce with - WoL Intrigue focus is quite helpful with that - as well as fomenting and supporting revolts, putting someone else in charge.

No, it's true. This isn't EU4 where 10 years = 10 years. It's X years, or the death of my ruler, or the death of the enemy ruler, whichever comes first.

I understand all those options, but it's annoying being forced into certain minority religions just so holy war is a 5 year truce instead of 10 years. It seems weird that they aren't on the same timer, and if you are hardcore blobbing you probably won't use holy war anyways.

But mah assassination button is gone! /sarcasm

I get that. But I specifically said no monarch death. Sometimes neither you nor the other monarch will die for decades, and having to kill myself just to reset a truce is wonky.

If you want to take Spain in less time and can't push holy wars (become a heretic or something), or get a claim on the whole thing, fabricate several claims and push them all at once whenever possible. For bonus points, IIRC, if you get another claim during an "all claims" war, it gets added to the wargoal.

Fabricating claims is a joke. You can pray to RNGesus for decades and get 0 claims. I understand how to blob, i've blobbed my name over the entire map plenty of times, but I haven't played christian or muslim really since old gods just because I don't like waiting 10 years to war over a 2 county duchy. Keeping kingdom targeting CB's at 10 years is sensible, but I don't get why a christian would feel obligated to a 10 year truce while the pagan is half.

Holy war isn't what you use for hardcore blobbing anyways, so I don't see a reason why not to streamline it.

Because blobbing is too easy as it is anyways? You have (up to) nearly 700 years to map paint, why does it have to go faster?

Yeah, but you can only "spy on" people in your realm. It makes absolutely no difference if they are right next door or not.

i agree, but clearly we can now see a "art of war" style dlc is not in the books, as pdox has no wish on changing truce timers :(
atleast elder kings and AGOT mods will be done soon right :) thank god for the modders

The only CB I'd personally consider shortening the timer for is de jure claims. They do seem a little underpowered to me.

No, if anything, de jure claims should be removed from the game. They're mostly not historical, and they're based on borders that emerged much later in history, not to mention the fantasy empires.

They are based on regions, older borders and/or what territories each territory desired, and certain de-jure setups differ from date to date. Majority of them are fine as they are.

I can understand that position for Royal and Imperial DJ claims, but I submit that ducal DJ claims are a somewhat different kettle of fish given that duchy boundaries are immutable.

When the game was released, ONLY Dukes could get De Jure claims. Even if you were a king and had ducal de jure claims you couldn't press them. They changed it for Kings and Emperors because people complained that it was too hard to expand /eyeroll
