Since I've never played a hoi game before I will probably start with Germany. Take it slow, take it easy. Reclaim Rhineland and the Anschluss, and also Danzig to connect my lands. But don't demand Sudetenland to piss off France/Britain too much. Attack the Soviets in 39 or 40, not sure what my casus will be but there is a national focus for war with the Soviets so I'll probably just take that. Hope Japan has had success in China so we can pincer the Soviets, crush them before they can organise themselves and split up the Soviet land, all the while hopefully avoiding war with the Western Allies and hopefully seducing some of the Central/Eastern European nations into my faction to increase my power for free without accumulating too much world tension. After a successful Soviet peace deal I have no illusion of keeping world tension low enough but when I've got a fully functional war economy of that size and big and stable allies, I hope I can win on the western front if war breaks out in 42/43 (I'm quite optimistic about Germany/Japan being able to 2v1 the Soviets in 2 or 3 years if nobody intervenes)

For me probably beginning with sweden or norway just to get more experienced with the game.

My Game Winning Mexican Dominance Strategy:
I'd buddy up with the US and USSR while reforming my government to Communism. I'd then get support up for an invasion of Central America (Those are rightful Mexica lands and will be taken back!), after which I'd invade the Caribbean while setting up the "Sociedad de las Naciones Hispanos" a faction that I hope to include all of Latin America and Spain with. If not then the Comintern will be my faction in which case I'd try to take over Latin America before reconquista-ing the USA.

1) Refuse to sign the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and instead guarantee Poland (for now).
2) Use superior numbers and the fact that Germany will still be fighting France in the west to destroy German manpower.
3) March on Berlin
4) Keep marching to Paris, Rome, Madrid.
5) Free Poland from the burden of governing itself.

My "game winning Mexican Strategy" has always been to ally with the Axis in late 1940, so as not to push the US into the Allies early, and then hammer the US while they're gearing up; then hold them off in a fortified Central Mexico. I'll not win right off the bat of course; but I'll delay their support for Europe and Asia long enough that my allies will have enough time to come to my aid or launch invasions of their own. When I've done this in both HoI2 and HoI3; the Japanese always gain the upper hand in the Pacific and allow me to regain lost territories in Northern Mexico and launch the Reconquista. Always fun times.
I'll probably jump into a game as Germany and se how long I will last by playing historically.
As Japan: 1. Invade China. 2. keep good relations with "Murca!. 3. incite rebellion in Singapore and then invade. 4. Build magnificent airforce and navy.
