Maybe i missed it but will the game have such an aspect to it? Something akin to Gangsters: Organised Crime where you could manage businesses and members, start takeovers, plan your expansions and so on.. Please say yes.

Maybe one day a studio will make a remake of Goc. If only...
But I don’t think it’s the main goal of empire of sin : the gameplay is very different according to the last twitch live.

I agree with Frantzy. Unfortunately, it looks like the strategic aspect will be less than what you see in Gangsters: Organized Crime. You'll be able to take over businesses and add illegal businesses, but it probably won't be at the same level of detail as in GOC.

A reasonable expectation for Empire of Sin is to be a better, more fleshed out Omerta: City of Gangsters. This, of course, is based on our limited view of gameplay and news about the game. Over the next few months, we should hear much more that may enlighten us on the strategic level of the game.

That's cool. I didn't really expect something as deep as G:OC. When I made this thread I didn't see anything like that in the game, only some turn based combat and the character screens. I'll take something like Omerta as well, I guess.

That's a shame... The last stream has pretty much killed my interest in the game for that reason. Omerta went in the right direction, but its lack of conflict/AI rivals and simplistic game progression killed it. EoS so far seems to have even less dynamic simulation and more straight-up prescripted content.

Maybe, but I think it's far too early to tell. We have barely seen much gameplay.

This game sounds interesting and a definite upgrade from Omertà. I agree, I’m a huge fan of the strategic aspect of Gangsters: OC. There’s a new game coming out called The Commission 1920 on Steam. If you’re looking for the strategic aspect, it’s a game inspired by G:OC (rackets, Family management, politics, etc)

Wow, thanks for the recommendation! I didn't even realize this game originally came out in 2018. Plus, some of the developers of Europa Universalis and other Paradox games are making this. The remaster looks interesting.

Omerta does actually have AI rivals in the expansion/Free mode but they're rather simplistic.

I am not sure how you read into "less dynamic content". It seems that in EoS events that happen during gameplay will affect character relationships and so on dynamically. For example, if A kills someone B loves, B starts to hate A and there are gameplay effects. These effects with gangsters (your henchmen) are for example: unlocking someone earlier than your notoriety level would allow (they like you or like someone who is with you), or not be able to recruit someone (they hate you or someone who is with you) and probably something else. Theres ingame random events also, and one can assume that some will be triggered by relationships.

There is a diplomacy screen, and I assume your actions in the bigger picture will affect your relationship with other outfits, and so on. I dont know how "deep" it will be, but it certainly looks dynamic.

I randomly found out about the boss reveal stream and watched it live, then watched the other two from replay. I am looking forward to this game.

ps. I have omerta and have actually played it a decent bit (113 hours)
