I've been playing as the USA, used the console to start as a Proletarian Dictatorship.

In my war against the UK, I thought I was winning, but after they never accepted my reasonable demands, I wondered if something was up, and the war score is balanced 19% in their favour.

I don't know why this is since I have only taken territories from them. They did hold my capital but I got it back. Right now most of the British land in Canada is occupied. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I sent cavalry running around stealing all their claims.

Below are some screenies to show what I mean...

War score:

Political map (the actual boundaries are where you would expect them to be, this is my first war with the UK):

Any ideas what's wrong?

My guess is that taking claims (which you just get right away, so they might not even matter for warscore) and colonies (which is what the Canadian provinces are to the UK) give very little warscore, you'd need to grab provinces on the British isles themselves. And the UK has loads of troops in India and probably a relatively large navy still, too, so it thinks it still has a chance against you.

You need to land in Britain to get a more reasonable warscore, or knock their WE up to over 80%, you could rise their WE by killing their troops, after annihilating maybe 100 divisions they'll be of very high WE.

A gamey way to get warscore is to occupy the capitals of their indian satellites, you get 20% warscore per capital.

You are reading the war score wrong. It is 18% in your favour, not theirs. With this war score you might get a white peace, but no more. To get them to give up land you most likely need to either have a higher military score than them, a much higher war score or that they have a really high war exhaustion. The UK is especially stubborn when it comes to making peace.

yeah I gave up my game as China because they just never make a white peace even when I occupied the entire India.

You can get succesfull wars with britain, but colonial wars are much better. As russia (i know, probably a bit easier) i conquered india piece meal. I declared on britain first and occupied all of british india, then took a couple of provinces (you need to shoot low). Then rather then waiting for a treaty i declared on an indian puppet (with low prestige) which brought britain in, i occupied them again and got a few more (because i was occuping the capital of their ally). I contiued this process, each time annexing a few indian puppets for good measure but leaving enough to keep constant war going. It takes ages and you get a huge amount of badboy but you get a massive population, good RGOs and a much weaker britain in the end.

The problem is you can only do this as a civilized nation with a land connection...

This. If War Score is positive, you are winning; if it's negative, you're losing. Try loading as UK: you will find that the War Score is -18%. :3

However...they won't accept reasonable peaces, because they aren't. Canada is quite low value, and they have territories all over the world...so yeah.

Against the UK war will most often be total victory or total defeat.

As said the best thing you could do is try to raise their war exhaustion. When it gets over 10 % you might get a peace treaty offered...
