France struck Sweden, with a vengeance! Although, they only took the worst states Sweden has, some with iron, maybe that was what they were after, still very unsure what caused them to invade in the first place though.

Yes, they grabbed Iceland and Greenland. Seems like that is popular among Mediterranean colonial powers, I've seen portugal do it, and that made it a pain to form scandinavia as I had to either put them in SOI or grab it back.
...and have a helping of iron when they're at it.
And besides, if they wanted to protect Sweden from Russia, they should grab Finland, it makes for a much better buffer state.

Ah that... you always get that message when you colonize a region, where there is already a "partial" colony of another nation at game start. Several regions in the Pacific and in Africa have that, as well as the southern tip of South America. :wacko:

Well, technically negative results in operations COULD also depend on other factors... like an uninitialized variable. Depends on compiler though...
And hey, signed 32bit int -> -2^31 to (2^31) -1 . More than enough for actual POP_SIZE. for any single country I mean... unsigned int is the better choice (2^32 - 1), granted, but IMHO going to the additional overhead a 64 bit variable on a 32 bit system is not really strictly necessary.

Earlier in this thread, someone posted a screen showing a roughly 500k vs 500k soldier battle. Someone also recently posted a French-controlled Sweden.
Aha! I trump you with my 1 million soldier vs. 2 million soldier battle and Papal States controlled Sweden.
(As a Two Sicily great power I intervened to protect recently-independent royalist Norway from Swedish communist aggression- the (lolwut) Constitutional Pope (my SOI puppet) decided he'd add the conquest of Northern Sweden as a war goal. I figured...hey why not and let him have it in the peace deal. Another SOI puppet, Fascist Piedmont, conquered some rock of an island north of Iceland.)
