Lord Strange-Commets are random? So tell me when is earth going to get the next random comet so the countries which it covers lose 1 stability? Whats the meantime to let that happen.

benkern-I'm already working on the opinion A. For the rest nothing in the world is random and happens without reason. When something happens you normally have multiple options to deal with it. So i don't know whats funny on an event with 3 options with all the same outcome. Thats retarded and not funny.

Thats the same shit as in fallout 3 in the last question of the GOAT. You can chose between overseer-overseer-overseer-overseer. Well thats a no brainer... But there it atleast makes sense unlike here.

They are random if you have no knowledge of their orbital paths and periods: in other words everyone without a telescope. If a massive star with tail appears in the sky, and you have no idea what is happnening, you'd be pretty scared I think. Also, its a joke by Paradox.

If we're talking about serious events I want some with pretender armies popping up and taking half your country, plagues and poor crops devastating your nation, heretics roaming in your countryside and inciting rebellion, and angry peasants storming to your palace and beheading your king giving -6 stab hit.

One comet event lets us off far too easy.

Comets are not random if a comet appearers and we go back into the past by using a time machine and change it, that comet will still appear, because we have no influcane on it.

You're not getting his point.
He said that basically, even if comets aren't random (we know this because of modern science), people back then felt like it was random. Hence the event.

By the way, this event is related to some slider (narrowindedness, I think).
So the more narrowminded your state is, the most likely it is to get stab hit by a comet.

You are not getting my point here. A comment is historical event which happened on a certain time over a certain area. So it cant be random, no matter if people felt that way. A comet would go by earth no matter who much you change the history of humanity. And normally only one country gets the event, while in reality all countries in the region should get it.

Here I go again :
If your neighbors are a tad educated, they might see the comet just like you, but don't give a superstitious crap about it.
So they don't get to choose between bad solution and bad solution again. Hence, no event. ;)

(And by the way, I've been told on another topic that narrowmindedness might have nothing to do with that event. My bad.)

Here i go again: Year is 1399 comet happens, all world gets -1 stability. And back then almost everyone was superstitious.

This is less a strange screenshot than a strange set of events (any explanations welcomed). I vassalized a one-province Saxony (located in Europe). I then formed an alliance with them. Brandenburg had owned this stretch of land for a few decades... a few years afterward I took Saxony, though, I look to find Saxony (who had no access to water) here and not Brandenburg. ... ?

If you look in this following picture, you'll see that some 15 years earlier, the 1-province Saxony next to the rather large Brandenburg...

Also, what is the record for most ducats gained in a peace deal? With all the players of this game, I doubt this comes close, but I was pretty happy about Bourbonaiss' "generous" taking of my "generous" peace offer.
