Actually Netherlands is a creation of my crappy editing :D
And I diplo-annexed a vast Austria. They had let Salzburg live (without even vassalizing) and so I decided to do that too :)

So, after watching some Tudors on DVD i just had to try some EU3 asap. not especially strange or funny but FINALLY I think ive started to get a hang of how to play this game :D

but i also had awesome advisers I think. So good that I couldnt really decide for one or the other, i took one excellent national tax- collector (i couldve taken another mediocre one too), then there were a couple masters of the mint, but they were mediocre so I took the morale of armies dude, and discipline fellow in the end.

Is discipline like important though, what about morale, since ive always heard that practically only the shock values really count and the shock dice roll?

They served me pretty well, especially against rebels and french minors, whose armies kinda sucked even though I frequently went leaderless against their kings and so forth. Robert Knolles died miserably during a ship voyage to France so that kinda sucked since he died so early in the war.

I equal the French Alliance in infantry, but have less cavalry, im fighting them alone though.

I have some questions about the war score tablet though. Specifically about blockading, it shows the french somewhere at 44% blockade right? And im being blockaded by some 11%? I sieged and took Normandy area, so should I blockade these provinces also to increase the french misery? How about my occupied territory in saintogne and gascogne, they count towards french ports? Im at level 3 naval tech i think. How to have 100% blockade of the enemy, or somewhere near it?

Discipline increases the damage your troops do. By the way, don't use mixed armies - only use cavalry armies. Infantry should be (if at all) only for sieging/assaulting provinces. You can't blockade until you have higher naval tech (7, iirc?), but the coastal provinces you have taken count toward the blockade score.

You need to have naval tech 9 before you can blockade.

That's just one man's opinion. I find infantry very useful.

I too find 10,000-man all infantry armies to be very useful, when, say, quick-striking an enemy's capital plus one other province in order to get out of a war quick.

Not if they have level 3+ forts. :)

Now, my 10K inf + 10k art + shock 4 siege 2 general stack goes through forts like a hot knife through butter...

ever tried MP? use infantry before a **** (secret and thus not specified year to keep the competition low) year or land tech ** (same story lol) and you will get slaughtered by all cav armies.
That's because MP has human players who like to exploit every advantage they can get, instead of trying to preserve a bit of history. Plus, if you're playing as a minor country, sometimes you can't afford cavalry.

technically its not an exploit but a trade off, it is correct that infantry is more cost effective (since they cost something like half of the cav?) not sure havent checked on the latter, but the fact remains that full cav armies with superior speed still rule the battlefield. there are even people using cannons when they are first produced (not knowing cannons explode during fire phases causing casualties to one's own army) ofcourse these are not very effective to a certain land tech level

at that certain land tech level inf/art armies become uber powerfull against cav armies. i just finished an MP game where 80K cav armies were downing on my 10K inf and 10K art, and the 80K got cut in half while my army made vitiually no losses. then again this also has to do with defensive bonus and the artillery line bonus (which is a very complicated one to explain)

Not sure if that's WAD, but I thought it was pretty funny. :)

If it's not clear what happened( It's not a very good screenshot ); Rebels I had spawned with spies in Rajputana formed a 2 province Gujarat, which I attacked. However, their armies are still friendly to me and can not stop me from taking over their land.
