First of my strange screenshots, using a slightly out of date version of Death and Taxes. The Golden Horde has been going into China (and, at it's height, was one province away from linking the Japan Sea with the Red Sea, and 3 away from connecting the Mediterranean and Japan Sea!). However, it isn't as big as it was before. Nonetheless, the terms of Yuan's surrender (a medium sized nation north of modern-day China) was ... interesting. 8 ducats (normal) and cancellation of all deals with ... the Golden Horde!? I have no idea what deal was struck between Yuan and the Golden Horde in the MIDDLE OF A WAR!
(Also, huge internet cookies on the person to correctly work out the other strange thing in this screenshot, which happened to me. Clues: I have always been in control of Ireland / Munster, and the strange thing is the reason I have one advisor, almost no prestige, no legitimacy, and no stability)
[Edit]Apparently this is also a Death&Taxes game ... huh.[/Edit] Next up: this (old) battle between the Teutonic Order (YAY!) and Novgorod (BOO!). When Novgorod charged in to battle (Broke off a siege in Muscowy while I was looking elsewhere), I thought it was going to be a quick death for that stack, especially since on day 1, my general died, leaving the stack without any general, and only a +2 crossing bonus. And it was a quick battle, the logs in the bottom left confirm that the battle of Ingermanland lasted 11 days (from 16 August 1404, to 27 August 1404). However ... I won. Not only that, but it started off (with full morale on both sides, I might add) with 14000 Novgorod troops vs. 5000 Teutonic Order troops. Over 1500 Novgorod troops died in the ensuing slaughter, while my general dying amounted to more than 14% of Teutonic casualties! (And even then, despite this being a textbook case of how a battle is fought ... I still only gained 0.5 Prestige and 0.1 Land Tradition. Typical...
