I've seen similar. Aztecs taking colonial provinces off Spain. Huron off England. Songhai off France. It seems the AI forget about their colonial wars very easily.

Hungary declared war on Moldavia (ottoman vassal but not ally) and the next day the Ottoman/Ramazan/Dulkadir/Wallachia alliance declared war on Hungary. Hungary managed to annex Moldavia and now is fighting the Ottomans in Dalmatia and in the Caucasus...
