Yeah, I just edited the tech level. It always CTDs when you quit, and a couple times it's CTDed when I've tried to save, and there have been one or two other inexplicable CTDs, but overall it's more stable than you'd expect. That is, as long as you don't try to do things that rebels don't do (send merchants, use diplomats, etc)...Looks like fun in England there civman2000. I'm keen to try out the game like you're playing now. Did you just edit the techs for rebels and thats it? Have you had many CTDs?

The army in the back that is out of the action is Spain as is the one in the foreground. For some reason when the second Spanish army (the one with the correct animation) landed the other one retreated. Then a few months later it sorted itself out and the siege began.
