Thanks for the recommendation and the link to mod the save game. I'd probably load an earlier save and play the heir as the Prince of Aswan. I was wondering what it would be like playing a Muslim ruler in the middle of France anyway

Yep, he went crazy and depressed amongst others.
I couldn't believe it, he had an illness, was severely injured for the better part of 20 years (kept expecting him to die but he didn't), developed depression, became selfish, crazed, a true egomaniac of epic proportions driven to become king. In fact I think he outlived his 2 predecessors.
His traits were probably an extension of my mad desire to become king, lol.
