It's the beginning of the year. I thought this was related to completing a siege, because i noticed it before during a war.

I noticed during the demo that I would inherit land and a huge sum of money without even realising it. There should really be a popup because if I'm caught up in a war I don't read through the messages you get every day because it's just "army A has sieged province C", "army B has won the battle" 90% of the time.
Did you by any chance drop your chancellor in one of your provinces to increase tax revenues? That will periodically pop up some decent money, though the amount varies.
You should, if it's because a chancellor (or maybe it's the steward; don't have the game open at the moment) manages it. That's the raise extra taxes event.
I've noticed a similar thing, though it seems to come randomly while I've hired mercenaries. I should be going into the red when a sudden random influx of cash pushes me up to like 30 or 40 and this keeps me afloat. Useful, but I don't know where it's coming from.
I find this happens when courtiers die. Sometimes they have quite a substantial ducat count, especially if they have been stealing from the crown's treasury.
It has to do with when courtiers die while holding sums of money. I'm not totally sure what the parameters are for you to inherit their money when they die, but I know it happens. I noticed I was getting random sums of money then one day I noticed it coincided with popups telling me one of my courtiers had died.
Maybe if they don't have a heir and are not married. Anyway, a message would be good, like the one from your steward (i think the message from your steward only comes when he is taxing a county).
