Strange goings on in WW2

Hi all

I would like to share a strange development in my hoi4 game as democratic US (no historic focus).

I was considering not joining the allies, but then I realized, that the Allies were just Britain and their colonies (+ Greece). France have turned fascist, and made an alliance with Italy, Spain and Hungary! The Axis is Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Japan and the chinese puppets. Russia have attacked Poland (who made their little baltic alliance).

Quite a fluid situation, so I decided to help my old overlords Britain. My atlantic fleet arrived in the channel just in time to stop a german invasion. My fleet was then promptly mauled by combined fleets of France and Germany, and lots of planes. The British navy was mostly in port.

We're fighting back though. We now have most of France under Allied control. Combined fighting against the germans, french, italians, japanese and spanish make for very slow going at the moment. I'm all out of fighters, but I just gave Patton control of a 20 division armored army, so I expect things to change on the ground soon.

This game is already great fun - will be great when we get better AI

I really need to give "no historic focus" a try, I've read so many interesting situations like this one coming out of it.

Yes - this is the craziest yet though. I have a mod that removes garanties too, that makes for a more varied experience.

I always play with historical focus off. It's so much more fun (at least if playing a minor)
