Strange end of the game

Just played a round of CK3 that suddenly ended with the declaration "No titles held". I am completely irritated. Didn't get a message that my titles had been revoked nor that my character died. In addition, I would have had 2 heirs in case of death.
Has anyone ever had a similar problem or an explanation?
I haven't experienced anything like this in almost 800 hours CK3

There was no war at that time. The last action a few seconds before the end of the game was that I accepted an invitation to meet peers (my character was a minor).

My previous ruler was assassinated. So it is possible that this happened to the current one also. But there was no notification. and I had two possible heirs.

There's no notification about a plot to murder you unless you find out about the scheme.
Also, were those heirs of the same dynasty as you?

Yes, both legitimate dynasty members.

The game just got stuck. There was no notification about game over. The manpower indicator became 0, and the little bar under it started blinking (from 0% to 100%). Absolutely no game over screen, just an event popup about the assassination plot.

I believe the latest patch might have broken it.

I no longer have the save. It's my first game over ever (since it's one of my first playthroughs with Friends & Foes enabled, which allowed for such an early assassination). I was just confused when it happened, so I restarted right away, after noticing the days weren't passing on the bottom right.

It's also what Ottomans mean when they say "surrender and you'll be spared".
