Just had a mission to destroy a convoy. It's the dessert map where the convoy is up on the road and the defenders are all on the lower ground. I expect it to go the same way it has every other time I've done this mission on this map(and it's always a convoy mission on this map). This time went a little differently. First off, when I discover the convoy on sensors it's still way over on the west side of the map. I pretty much always end up catching it in the middle any other time. Next, as I kill the second tank, reinforcements show up. I don't remember ever seeing that happen in a convoy destruction mission. More interesting is that they're coming from the west. I was upset at first, but once I saw where they came from I was like sweet, I'll actually get to use more than the same 20% of this map I do every other time(seriously, randomize our starting edges!).

Two turns later, 3 members of my lance are moving to engage the reinforcements while the 4th is going to kill the last tank. I had thought about going for the evac since my grasshopper was pretty beat up from an enemy DFAing it, but since I had no idea where the evac was going to be I figured I might as well take out the reinforcements. After all, the evac was probably behind them.

Anyway, I kill the last tank and get the "head to the LZ commander!" message. I clear it away and

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

What!?

My mechs were spread across the map so I know I didn't just happen to have them all in the Evac zone. Did I miss a patch note?

Just had something like that myself... Actually, right down to the reinforcements showing up when I killed the second tank. Though I was on the east side of the map (where the convoy exit point was, I'd moved towards that and ignored the recon goal, planning to meet them head-on, rather than chase).

I ended up reloading several times (I wanted to kill the reinforcements), and in the end, I only managed by leaving the last Shrek alone until I'd killed them; otherwise, every time, it'd give me a mission complete.

That sounds like a Bug. After many playthroughs on that particular map and in that particular Mission, I've never seen the like of what you describe. Please report it, if you have the time and opportunity. :bow:

I haven't updated to the latest version (I'm using the one before) and I recently had an ambush on this map come up for me. I tackled this exactly the same way as @Aotrs Commander did, because I've had too many yakety sax moments on this particular map. I had reinforcements arrive after the second tank went down, just as above, but I didn't get a premature completion - it went on right until the last reinforcement fell.

I don't know if this helps anyone or not.

Right, I've filed a bug report (remembered to check to see if anyone had as I was going through the laborious process of clearing my saves out and fortunately still had the save).

For the record, my map is not apparently a desert one, so it appears to affect more than one map.
