This post isn't about implementing land movement there, it's about splitting the seazone to two new ones, making the one open water and the other inside the Mediterranean sea inland sea zone.

Because, if i recall correctly, it is considered an inland sea zone, and i always get confused when playing some large colonial nation or a mediterranean nation. Same goes for the weird sea above Denmark.
Also, specifically regarding the Gibraltar straits, i think we have two sets of countries, the inland sea major powers (eg. Venecia) and the open sea major powers (eg. Spain) and i think that controlling who goes in and out should also be represented by the map and how some countries make their strategies.
It has to do with being able to guard the entrance of the Mediterranean from either side accordingly to what your focus/nation is, especially when some of the wealthiest trade nodes are there.
