Joe,

I have always enjoyed your writing. Be it Free Company, The Alliance, or any of the newer stuff. You were the first to try many things (and write about them for us) that have become standard in my game play. The innovation is great, but what really sets you apart is the enthusiasm and quality that you put into your writing.

Thanks, and please, please KEEP WRITING! :)

I've finally started to feel a little better and can begin reading again. One of the first things I wanted to do was to congratulate the two of you on this honour.

Happily, I managed to pick up on Meiji-Tenno's thread just as it was beginning and I have really enjoyed reading it as he has expanded the scope and depth of it. The writing is getting better all the time and I must say that you are turning it into a gem. I look forward to reading the instalments I've missed in the last two weeks, and the ones still to come in the future.

It takes a certain amount of bravery to post a story in a foreign language and to see it through the way he's doing. I salute you, sir, for a very good job indeed, and I will be very interestedd to see what other treasures you may have in store for me.

Joe Storey is another of those highly influential people who were of immense value to me when I fist started writing. I can't think of single AAR that I've written where he hasn't had some positive remarks to make on a regular basis; but even more important than the occasional praise are the inciteful comments that he has asked me that show that he's been really reading and thinking about my offerings. It has sparked some very interesting conversations and ideas over the months.

As a story writer, I can only admire your wonderful creativity, originality, and craftsmanship. Your work is always a pleasure to read, and very rarely would I dare call it predictable. I always look to see what you're up to next.

I also find that as I read other people's work, that Joe's name crops up all the time...another of the really devoted readers of many AARs, and I know that he very happily and willingly spreads around his encouragement and suggestions which I think is something that makes him an incredible asset to the forum and a driving compent of what makes this place tick.

So congratulations to you both on an honour very well deserved.

Joe & M-T,

Congrats on your honours. Don't spend all the prize money at once!

Joe -- your FC character is the one that finally inspired me to try my hand in the FC. I loved the humour you built into it. Some of your later AAR's have been even funner to read. I especially liked your recent MP game.

M-T -- you must have used another name. No first time writer could put that much depth and creativity into an AAR. Come on, spill the beans and tell us your other screenname.

Anyway, congrats on an honour deserved.

Stroph

Storey:
I can remember those days, long ago.
The Free Company was based in Sicily and Storey started puking during my wedding. Those were the days.
I also remember some AAR's, well written, funny and most important, like nothing ever seen before.
Casually switching between countries, fighting your own creations. Joe, I love you.
(in the non-sexual meaning:D )

M-T:
thanks to my busy life I haven't read your AAR, yet.
I did read your wellstructured posts in the HOIforum so I can only guess they will be well written.
Keep on writing and maybe I'll be able to read them when my life slows down.
