I googled and saw a handful of posts like this, but couldn't find a solution for me, so hopefully someone can help.

What is going on, is that my forestry storage (saw dust storage etc.) are not exporting any goods (raw forest products). They are set to balanced, but are completely full. No freight trucks are in use. Some are inside the forestry district, some are outside, but they show the same behaviour. The other forestry buildings are exporting fine (tree plantations, sawmills etc.).

  • The watch it mod says that 3,266 / 16,384 vehicles are in use, so it isn't a vehicle limit problem.
  • The freight trucks from the plantations are literally driving right past, on the same road as, the storage, so it can't be a pathing problem.
  • I set the storage to "empty", but it didn't empty.
  • I moved the storage, but it had no effect.
  • I made a new storage, but it just filled up too.

The only mods I have are "81 Tiles (Fixed for C:S 1.2+)" and "Watch It!" (just to check vehicle limits). I only have 5 tiles unlocked currently.

So, what's going on? How do I get these things to export?

Okay, first off, excuse the embarrassment that is the city design (or lack there of). I've just been cobbling things together until the industry zones level up and unlock all the buildings, then I'll redesign it all better.

I did some testing and this all seems really buggy.

Sometimes, turning off all the processors will make the storage export, but not always.
Sometimes, adding more storage will make the storage export, but not always.

In `export-test.crp` you can see the original problem. (Storage doesn't export, extractors do).

In `export-test-2.crp` I added 6 new large storage, and cleaned up the outgoing industrial traffic quite a bit. Now, both the storage and the exporters have stopped exporting. The extractors say "Not enough buyers for products", even though there is now a lot of open (not full) storage, and there would be a lot more if they did exports. Strange how making things better (traffic flow, available storage), made the situation worse (less exports).

EDIT: 0 mods in use.

I may have figured out what caused the problem in this case. The forest industry area was completely surrounded by other industry areas which seemed to have triggered this glitch (see attachment). After I erased the unused section of farming industry area and built a direct road to the nearby roundabout, exports looked to have returned to normal.
