Why would Paradox make it so whenever you change your government, which you are almost 100% likely to do each game thanks to advanced governments, they also fuck up your and pronouns and ship designations and such? Do they not realize a lot of people create custom races?

Why would you change my names involuntarily and then not allow me to change them back? The answer is there is none.

I hope you'll all just call me an idiot and tell me I was missing something and can in fact customize my government in game, I really do, cause this is just baffling.

This is, from what I gather, possibly a bug introduced in 1.3.

I appreciate the idea- it makes sense that a total change of government would result in a name change. I think they just need to make it so that you change back your leader titles, ship prefixes, etc... in-game. You can fix the empire name right now, at least- if you click on it in the right window you can edit that one.

Alternatively, just allow people to specify if the species will change names on govt. upgrade and change, and/or what name it would use for advanced govt. form, along with ship prefixes & ruler titles in those instances.

There's a plan on fixing this so that a name change only occurs when changing to an entirely different government type. Upgrading to the advanced form of the same government will preserve the original empire name.
