So i am going to colonize a planet with Stone age primitives.

I know i will get 2 options, one gets primitive encampments for science bonus, the other gets less encampments(may have changed in a patch?) and has the possibility of some of them joining you ( can you get some joining you from both options or just the 2nd?).

If you are a Xenophobe or Collectivist you can simply enslave them.

Although all of this will be changed in 1.5 as, based on a teaser from Wiz, Stone Age Civs will now function as a Primitive Civ, one level down from Bronze Age ones.

Good, there's pops for pre-sentient and bronze age, but not in the middle? Doesn't make sense. If anything there should be only 1 pop until like the renaissance or medieval age. Unless of course you're helping them. Then it makes sense for them to support a higher population with your help.

the reservation choice can have this effect of a pop joining you, afaik the enclave option not

or in other words, the option with lesser blocked tiles are the one for have this effect a pop could join

You got 3 options:
- Enslave them. Asuming you can enslave that kind of pop*
- a lot of Enclaves/Tileblockers**. Some of them migth join you*.
- fewer Enclaves/Tileblockers**. But in turn random Events will kill pops and buildings.

*In both cases the species is only rolled out once they do spawn. So results might varry.
**The same kind of adjacency bonus. Can only be removed by stuff like the Unbidden eating the planet.

With 1.5 Stone-Agers will be turned into normal Pre-FTL civlisations with Pops and everything. The special case of Stone-Age just did not work out as intended and causes lots of minor issues (like extra checks against Terraforming and whatnot). Not sure if the Enclave mechanic will survive that (in form of a explicity building). We will have to see how it will work out.

Yep, this has been discussed before, being able to turn basically animals into a spacefaring species but not actually intelligent beings who haven't yet developed a proper civilization.
