This is a save after I conquered hive mind player. My proper planets are 14 and pops arround 800, the conquered planets have everything disabled/pops purged, because i was about to leave all that territory empty anyway. (admin cap matters)

Why leave it empty space if you could install a leader and have a vassal as a powerful ally? (Well, eventually it might be powerful)

Just wanted to add: Ecumonopolis give an additional +20% to (most) specialist production.

@Yámáto: That's a lot of planets. Do you have some tips on effective / low micro sector management? It's driving me insane.

If you don't want to get a Ecumenopolis, a Forge World with 6-7 alloy plants and a Ministry of Production will get you your 200+ alloys per turn. Add Noble Estates for extra stability for even more alloys.

If you have Nano Plants (last stage) you get 8 workers from every plant, that's 6x8x3=144 without modifiers, +28,8 from Ministry and Forge World, that makes 172,9. That's reasonably approaching 200. But in my experience, you rarely get to tier 3 foundries at 2300, unless you specifically hunt for this tech. And then there's upkeep, though quite moderate. I'm currently at 2333, my combined fleet power is 17k and Alloy upkeep only at -37 - but I also only produce 115, because I don't have any Foundry upgraded. I'm hardly a bad player, though; I play on Grand Admiral with Scaling Difficulty and only the advanced start AI is not inferior to me.

Strange, in my first playthough I was so focused on alloys, I rarely felt them lacking. I, however, had to sell them on the market on occasion, to compensate for energy and mineral deficit.

That's a lot of planets. Do you have some tips on effective / low micro sector management? It's driving me insane.

As I posted above the pic, I had only 14 planets before the conquest of the enemy Hive mind, at that time we played on normal speed, so micro wasnt that hard.

Naming your planets also help to know what is their focus, for ex. Energy I,II,.... or Minerals I,II.....

If I see unemployed icon I either ressetle pops to new world, or just leave it be, they eventually migrate off anyway, the micro might seem hard, but once you get into it it is pretty simple.(practice makes master)

Often I see people spamming new buildings immediately when the spot opens, I dont do that .When you have 35 pops and 40 jobs you dont rly need to build for 35 lvl slot, unless its just no job building like Slave Facility/Clone Vats....

You dont need to obsesively check planets every 2 seconds, when you build something for 5 jobs(upgrades) just be sure you have 5 housing too and it will take few years until those jobs are filled and planet needs your attention again.

That's why once it's built up, you release it and have it join your federation. Geez, do I have to think of everything? :p

Main reason to drop those systems was admin cap and it was on other side of Large galaxy. I prefer to keep my planets in close proximity so that I can easily defend them, this was 7ppl MP, not vs braindead AI.
