Finally managed to beat Stiff under Lippe achievement before 1600. It was with base EU4 so went bankrupt 3 times.
As with most achievements, France is your best friend.

Not bad, did you launch as Berg and release them immediately or did you go for another approach?
Yes started as Berg, released it later after investing points into the province, at time of release dev was 28 and had a level 2 fort. Basically had to do Berg dirty and I insulted so many nations they didn't get allies except Dortmund.
