Shouldn´t Steyr be under the control of the Otakar family, seen as it was their ancestral holding, which gave the name later to the Steiermark? Am I missing something? Why was a ´Von Steyr´ invented when there is already a suitable ´character´ in the game present (I am talking about the 1066 start, not sure about earlier starts).

The duke of Styria is an Otakaren.
The county of Steyr is mysteriously part of the duchy of Austria (de jure and de facto).
That looks as if it needs explanation.
A quick Wikipedia search suggests that Steyr was (also logically by its name) part of Styria and owned by the Otakar.
Then again Steyr is seperated from Traungau in game, which i wonder why as well by a quick read on it.
Hmm....

Maybe an issue just implemented with the new provinces in 3.0.
Could be interesting to know if that was done on purpose and why.

Im a Styrian and maybe the reason is that Steyr is no Part of Styria it is Part of Upper Austria, so is Traungau. Inner Austria consits of Upper and Lower Austria.

Steyr was the main Castle of the Otokars which is the reason this part of former carantia was called Styria.
Later it became Graz which is the Capital of Styria since then. Im no Historian but i dont find any informations in german if Steyr was considered part of Austria or Styria but it was under the controll of the Otakars since 1055

Also it’s hard to make a dejure duchy map wich is accurate from 769 to 14something.

According to Wikipedia it was moved from styria to Austria dirign the reign of Ottokar 2 of Bohemia.

What bothers me more is the wrong CoA of Styria and Steyr.

My point wasn´t really if Steyr should be part of Upper Austria or Styria (Although I assumed it was part of Styria, I did not even check). Mine was why the count of Styria is a fictional (I assume) ´Von Steyr´ and not an Otakar. And I cannot see any reason why not just simply give that county to the Otakars, should not be too difficulty and as far as I know it would be more accurate.
