Do the vanilla benchmark wars work? I'm not seeing any difference in history/wars/norman_conquest.txt between 2.1.6 and 2.2
They seem to work fine as far as I can tell.Do the vanilla benchmark wars work? I'm not seeing any difference in history/wars/norman_conquest.txt between 2.1.6 and 2.2
What titles do those characters have, and what are the definitions for the titles?
There's a new history/diplomacy folder that is empty.
I suspect an /interface folder problem.
I've seen the same thing with the Middle-Earth mod where the steps listed didn't work, but once I removed the /gfx and /interface folder things worked fine.
Same with the Warhammer mod. After the changes were done, it would load up, but crash once trying to start a game the very last second after it finished loading a character.
I had to go through the /interface folder with winmerge and look at all the changes between our files and Charlemagne. In that case, there were only 8 files in /interface that weren't portrait related, so it wasn't so bad. For other mods however that have done heavy interface graphical editing, it may be a much longer process trying to determine which files need to be updated.
Have you tried just setting the start date of the war to 768? Sure, that makes no sense, but modding voodoo like that can be surprisingly effective.
Nah, I meant the former. If having the war start in the 8th century isn't working out-- maybe there's a CB issue with the patch?Do you mean without changing anything else (like the playable timeframe, or the lifespan of the characters involved) or by moving everything into the 8th century? Because the former doesn't work, and the latter would, frankly, be a lot of work.
Okay, this is getting ridiculous.
EDIT: Okay, I can think of ONE thing - it might be the date. Perhaps the game no longer counts wars that are defined as being declared after the initial playable period? But then why does it still load up the characters, provinces, and titles just fine?
- Added define for first year to execute tech, used for optimization, needed for mods.
The new beta patch has this in the changelog:
Could you also tell them to un-hardcode the era bookmarks?Yup, I told the CK Lead what I thought of that kind of hard-coded stuff![]()
OK, I fixed the Middle Earth mod.
Turns out the final crash after selecting a character had _something_ to do with a file in /common. Not defines.lua or static_modifiers.txt, but one of the others.
So anyone getting that last stubborn crash that is not /interface or /gfx folder related, try emptying out all the files in /common in your mod and see if that helps![]()
