Stellaris won't launch

hello everyone.

after many hours on EU4 and CK2 (both +1000h) i decide it was time to try stellaris.
i bought the game + all DLC's. 15min later i was ready to play the game.
i clicked on start game but nothing happend. i pressed it again and the loading screen pops up. both the screen is all black. i waited a few min but still nothing and as soon as i clicked on it it said: Stellaris has stopped working and closed down.

i tried to integrity but it said everything was ok. i restarted my pc but still the same problems. i deleted the game and re-installed it. but i keep having the same problems.
i don't have any problems with CK2 or EU4.

You should post in the tech support subforum for a response from PDS, and look at the Stellaris logs files in My Documents for any clues in the meantime.

can't you just tell me what i have to do to start this game?
i'm not a smart pc guy. i just play for fun. what should i look for in Stellaris Logs files?

I don't know what you have to do.
I'm just trying to help. You're more likely to get a tech support answer if you post in the tech support forum.

The error.log file usually contains info on what happened when the game crashes.

It's certainly unusual that this game won't run when EU4 does.

Add steam.exe and stellaris.exe to the Exceptions list of your antivirus app, whatever that is.

Exit Steam entirely and run stellaris.exe by itself. It will still fail but are there any new errors or messages that show now?


DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log , plus any other files there over 0 bytes.
