@DanoShanter go to either the contacts menu, or the galaxy map, and find the empire you want to trade with, then click on their flag (on galaxy map this will be beside names of the systems that at least have a colony or an upgraded starbase). That will open communication menu. On the left of the window, bellow the visual representation of said nation, you'll have a scrollable menu of available diplomatic actions, Offer Trade Deal being one of them.
IYes, I've found that, and I can figure out how to offer the other empire something (the left hand list, what I give to them). What I am having trouble figuring out is how to put something in the RIGHT HAND list, what I want them to give me in return. And I see the flame from another user was deleted, but no I do not belong to sme pretty special breed of fool to not know this, I'm just someone who hasn't played the game as long as all of you have and hasn't yet learned what to you is foolishly obvious but to a beginner ISN'T. And the person who wrote that flame might want to check and make sure they understand what it is that I'm asking before they insult me on the forum again, because they too thought that I couldn't figure out that "Offer trade deal" is the way I offer a trade deal. Again, I wasn't asking how to offer the trade deal, I know that, I was asking about the mechanics of what you do next to get the other empire to give you something in return for what you're offering.

You do the same thing you did to offer a deal, except you select the resource you want to receive from the right hand side. In the screenshot below I have currently selected the option that lets me request Alloys from the other empire.

The AI won't accept these terms because I'm obviously underpaying, but it's just an example.

I've actually very often two potential errors on the wiki page if i use the search function. This exists for a while now. Any other observations or maybe even already planned fixes? It' doesn't matter for what topic or keyword i search. The errors are always identical.

The first one:

And the second one (with obvious explanation):

I just tried looking in the Wiki, while writing a reply on the subReddet, but I was unable to find any concrete information about Stratum Demotion time, i.e. what the base time is , and what can be done to reduce that time?

I knew for a fact that the Harmony Tradition reduces it, so I did include that in my reply on the subReddit, but I was greatly annoyed at not being able to find anything about the other method, something to do with Egalitarian and/or Democracy, and likewise not being able to see how long the Demotion timer is. From memory I think it's been 1080 days lately, but I was very reluctant to say that.

How can such information loss happen? Because all of that used to be in the Wiki. Someone removed it, at some point. Why?

I just updated the Population page to add that info in.
Basically, ruler stratum has base time of 1800 days, specialists a base of 900, all others are effectively instant or not applicable. Shared Burdens civic and living standard modify the time by -45% each (total 90%), the harmony tradition does -75%, and having defaulted gives -50%.

The wiki is kept up by volunteers, some pages are quite complicated, mistakes happen. (Sometimes, too, differences of opinion about where a bit of information should go too and it gets lost in the shuffle.)

The Stellaris (and Paradox wikis in genral?) REALLY need more bandwidth/server capacity/whatever keeps the internal hamsters running.
The local search function is overloaded to the point you're better off using google to find the correct page than using the search function on the wiki itself.

Yeah, that's because sometime in early April-ish there was an update which broke searching for non-exact page titles. The error message about being too busy seems misleading since you can immediately search for a term that matches an exact page title and it works. (Or perhaps, searching for a term on a page is too expensive for some throttling limit now.). It's a shame because unless you already know exactly where to find what you're looking for, the wiki search is now unusable.

I'm trying to edit the technology page to reflect some recent changes and it keeps throwing an "Error contacting the Parsoid/RESTBase server (HTTP 500)" error at me and not saving it. Is this just a server bandwidth issue or is this a more fundamental issue with mediawiki?

Does the wiki have something against people using VPNs and not registering an account? I can't edit anything at all...

In any case, can someone please update the Galactic Community page on the resolutions, specifically The Greater Good buffing planet designations as opposed to a universal buff?

Also, on the species traits page, that numistic administration is not inheritable at all as opposed to "random" chance. I've checked the codes and tested in game, and they won't be inherited at all via Xeno Compatibility

proper confusing considering merchants are just big clerks ressource-wise but ill take it.
Pretty sure this is because Merchants used to produce unity. They lost it during the unity/admin cap rework but there's no particular reason to entirely delete the existing category since maybe it'll get used for something else later.

EDIT: Oh, and also because they have upkeep.

Thanks for the notice, CaesarVincens already updated it. It's rare but sometimes the devs forget to mention a minor balance change or two in the patch notes.
