Stellaris Utopia bug?

I've attempted to start a new file on Setallaris after getting Utopia. I have removed all mods I have, verified the game files and they came back good. Each time I start a new game (regardless if I make a custom empire or use a default one) I get the same thing. My screen is gray. I can select my planet, but I cannot see the planet. It will not zoom in nor out and I cannot close the galaxy map. I cannot control my ships. Is this a bug with the update? Am I doing something wrong?

I just registered to post this bug. This is also happening to me. Is there any fix or something? I have also removed all mods and tried a completely new game (and tried loading an old one, from 1.5). Please fix soon!

I have just purchased the utopia dlc (just in case it makes any difference, I was planning on getting it soon) but there is no difference, game still starts with cloudy smoke as seen on ju.carnes' screen shot, and the map seems to go to the left very fast, as if you put your mouse on the left side on the screen. You can tell it is very zoomed in, as you can sometimes see some starts passing by.

If you try to click something, it will create a square like that.

I have this exact same bug. Deleted and reinstalled that game and its still there
