Description
Tree of Life giving debuff even when a Sapling is present. Verne 2.6.1 65d2

Game Version
Verne 2.6.1

What version do you use?
Steam

What expansions do you have installed?
Synthetic Dawn,
Utopia,
Leviathans Story Pack,
Apocalypse,
Megacorp,
Distant Stars

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Basically if you own a planet that you did not colonize it gets the debuff/modifier "No Tree of Life."

I acquired a world through subjugating primitives and it immediately got this modifier.

So I decided to purge both my own pops and the primitives (eviction - nothing too crazy) and then resettle my nation's pops elsewhere so that I could re-colonize this world with a new colony ship.

My reasoning: Because the Tree of Life modifier says building Colony Ships is how you spread new Saplings.

What happened from there (after I finished re-colonizing it) was very interesting...

The world (while being colonized) got a new instance of the same modifier "No Tree of Life" and when it finished colonizing it removed the new instance but left the old one.

Once a world has the debuff, it always has the debuff :/

Anyways if you look at the image you can see under Planetary Features where the world both has the Sapling and the Debuff for "No Tree of Life."

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Choose "Tree of Life" as your Origin.

Acquire a world without colonizing it. It now has the "No Tree of Life" debuff/planetary modifier.

Remove all pops from the world and re-colonize it.

The world will have a second instance of the debuff and once it finishes colonizing the game will remove one of the two identical debuffs but not the other.

Hi, thanks for your report, I'll add it to the database so it can get fixed. For the mean time, you have a decisions to transplant a sapling for worlds like that, you don't need a colony ship. Hope this helps in the mean time

Wasn't there supposed to be a decision or something that would let you plant a tree sapling without using a colony ship? I believe, you're supposed to use it when you acquire a planet from someone.

Still, the modifier (however many of them might be here), should be removed once you actually get a tree (sapling) onto the planet

Yes, there is a decision and from what I can see, it doesn't actually care if you already have a sapling, only that you have the negative modifier, so this should actually work for this case.

Ayy, the same is happening to me too since I like to play the highest pop growth empire.
It makes it possible to have 2 trees of life sapling on the same planet. Pretty broken, ruined my current game.

And it commonly happens too, you can get it by taking another empire's planet, purge it, which deserts it, and recolonize the planet.

I didn't know about the decision, however after applying it I've discovered that this is actually exploitable! You can stack the Tree of Life by doing this ><
