Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
According to the 3.5 patch notes, @ tags now work in event targets. However, my attempt to use them suggests this isn't the case, at least for pop and army scopes.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
I created an event that saves an army as the global event target "army_of_pop@prev", where prev is a pop. Then, in another event, I tried to follow that connection with army_of_pop@this = { remove_army = yes }, and this didn't work. In pop scope, checking "exists = event_target@army_of_pop@this" also didn't work. Other effects on the pop and army showed that the scoped were correct for the initial event that was supposed to link them.
