Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
As a xenophobic empire, I created a modification for my synth pops and it resulted in them all being purged as they were "too alien", now when I make new synth pops it will purge them, wiping them out in a month because they are again, too alien.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
I have no clue how or why this happened.

Steam is unable to create valid attachments, for some reason

Hi, thanks for the report. If you could upload a save for us to look at that would be very much appreciated.

Cloud save locations:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/<YOUR STEAM ID>/281990/remote/save games/

Local saves should be in your Documents folder.
