Description
Stellaris [2.6.3][ae56] Fullscreen doesn't work on macOS

Game Version
2.6.3 [ae56]

What version do you use?

Steam

What expansions do you have installed?
Synthetic Dawn,
Utopia,
Leviathans Story Pack,
Apocalypse,
Distant Stars,
Ancient Relics,
Federations

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When launching the game in full-screen mode, the game only visually takes up the bottom-left 75% of the screen. The mouse still acts as if the game is running full-screen, which means it doesn't correctly align with any GUI element.

Issue occurs both with and without DLC installed, through all the 2.6.x versions. No mods. Workaround is to launch the game in borderless window mode.

I'm running macOS Mojave 10.14.6 on a 15" 2019 Macbook Pro, Radeon Pro Vega 20. I saw a similar report from someone on Catalina back in the 2.5 series - https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...nly-appears-on-bottom-half-of-screen.1270436/

Steps to reproduce the issue.
1. Configure the game to run in fullscreen mode.
2. Launch the game from Steam.

Still seeing this on the 2.7.2 beta patch (2dec). Interestingly enough my friend says he doesn't encounter this issue using an external monitor on his 2016 MBP, but I'm using the built-in laptop screen.

I was able to mitigate this issue for the "borderless fullscreen" model via editing /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt.
Below are my graphics settings. I played with them for a while and the solution was to set both size and min_gui to my preferred screen resolution.
Hope this will help someone.

Code:
graphics={
    size={
        x=2048
        y=1280
    }

    min_gui={
        x=2048
        y=1280
    }

    gui_scale=1.000000
    gui_safe_ratio=1.000000
    refreshRate=60
    fullScreen=no
    borderless=yes
    display_index=0
    shadowSize=2048
    multi_sampling=2
    multi_sampling_quality=0
    maxanisotropy=16
    gamma=50.000000
    vsync=no
    adapter=0
}
