Save Crashing After Unpause

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I have disabled all but ONE mod, which the save will not load at all without it: Animated Hollow Portraits. The save will load fine, but after unpausing, there is a crash after about half a second, and I am forced back to the desktop. I have verified the game's files through Steam, to no avail. I have attached
Steps to reproduce the issue.
1. Launch the game through steam
2. Click resume on the Paradox Launcher
3. Load into the save, everything looking fine
4. Unpause
