Ruler Election UI, Leader portrait Missing, Age -1

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
The Ruler Election dialog shows a missing portrait of the leader and indicates the leaders age as -1 (see attached file).
As a side note, you cannot select the blank portrait and then spend unity to elect the blank portrait leader.
Edit: I just realized that this bug may have occurred when my Leader (scientist) died on their ship at the same time as this election occurring and that the leader who was on that ship is the one that should have had a portrait in the Ruler Election dialog
I think a good starting point to investigate this bug
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Was playing the game and my leader died. Selected the gavel to review the leader choices and noticed the bug.
