I contact the empires of Khendros, Vidathrian Interstellar Hegemony, Tenet of Yogothllor, Terra Matutinus, Zorphax Confederacy and Unified Jarotamar Ecumene to suggest that we form a new major alliance. One aimed to advance scientific knowledge and defend all that is true. As I understand some of you are parts of other alliances, this is currently just a suggestion and I would like to convene on a conclusion in the future.
The member states of the UNSC gathered to discuss the second contact. It was made by the Dhogan people. Their message was sent in such a way that it could be easily deciphered. How the Dhogan people found out about the human languages was unknown. After hours of discussion among the members, the UN secretary general announced an upcoming press conference.
Protestors and supporters from around the world gathered outside the UN headquarters in Beijing in anticipation of the press conference.
"I would like to begin by saying that we have not yet made any efforts to reply to this message at this time. The contents of this message is still quite unclear to us. But it seems that the so called Dhogan people are part of a larger sovereignty called the Ur-Quan Hierarchy. That is all we can reveal at this time. We will constantly update everyone on the situation of this ongoing dialogue with the Dhogan people."
Hours later, the leader of the Terran movement responded to the UN's handling of the situation, pointing out the amount of danger we are in.
"Thanks to my supporters and friends in Russia, I was able to obtain the transcript of the actual message. I can tell you that this message is more grave than we have all anticipated it to be. This is a threat, not a olive branch. The UN does not represent us, and yet they have the guts to leave out the most essential part. 'Don't make the same mistake as us' they said. Don't forget the part where Ur-whatever is going to try to give us 'protection'. This is an attempt at extortion, much like how mafias work. We cannot fall for this scheme and we cant afford to get mixed up in some foreign politics that we know nothing about. And like i told many people, i was right about these aliens. They are hostile."
[you will have to ask them[ Okay, look like there might be a third forgotten power, can you remember who else was in and it's name?]

This is a mere suggestion to those who seek knowledge. If empires do not wish to leave their current alliance then that is understandable. After such a scientific alliance is established the Paratus would wish for an audience with the Independent League as I believe we have common interest in defending against the Ur-Quan."what is this? "Think back to when I told you about the inherent weakness of a democratic system. If you are starting to learn from your mistakes, I would happily accept you as one of our Battle Thralls; I am sure that you would make a fine addition! I may even consider granting you special privileges among our great Hierarchy if you join us. Your security and prosperity will be assured.""what is this? In that regard, you may continue, and if any of our decide to join you instead, we must allow them to do so. While we will be wounded, we can not stop them since they join of their own accord, they can leave of their own accord."This is a mere suggestion to those who seek knowledge. Homo Sapiens Eridaniens were mankind's first attempt to increase the range of the habitable universe, by modifying baseline humans to better cope with high-G forces. PX-557 in Gamma Eridani was the first colony established by this off-shoot of the human race. It flourished there, becoming colloquially known as the 'Eridani' in the process. Averaging roughly 1.6m in height for men, and 1.5m for women, yet routinely outweighing their baseline cousins by anywhere between 20-30%, the Eridani are known for their physical power, hardiness and muscular endurance. A dense bone structure adds to their robustness.
Though physically imposing, they do tend to age faster than normal humans due to increased cellular degradation. Despite best efforts, the mean Eridani lifespan is a painfully short sixty-five years, compared to the standard human life expectancy, which stretched beyond a century by 2100AD. The Eridani are also poor long distance runners due to decreased lung capacity and shorter legs. They do, however, retain superior toxin filtration organelles and can operate in environments totally unsuited for baseliners.
Otherwise, the Eridani remain mostly human, and Eridani-human pairings still produce healthy offspring.
The Eridani have never had it easy. Ruthlessly exploited to hollow out Home on behalf of baseliner corporations, and ignored by the government in distant Sol, they toiled for a century under Gamma Eridani's merciless glare. They learned the value of hard work; of strength. Their short, often brutal lives revolved around tightly knit families and family groups, which were put before all else. These families thrived on Home despite its challenging conditions, establishing a population of millions of miners, farmers, craftsmen, mercenaries and laborers. The weak and the careless did not last. Their cities were as much below ground as above; their culture revolved around tests of strength and daring. Their songs and stories were about heroes fighting against impossible odds, and often heroically losing. They came to believe that the only guarantor of peace and security was a mailed, crushing fist.
Eventually, the Time of Troubles struck distant Earth, and the corporations robbing Home of its mineral wealth panicked. With frightening speed, the Eridani went from being second class citizens and genetic cast-offs to indentured servants. They did not - and could not - abide this for long, and after Home lost all communication with Earth in 2166, they struck, and struck hard. The Eridani Revolution saw the baseliner presence on Home destroyed by the divine hand of justice and retribution within a few short weeks. A new generation of Eridani heroes came to the fore.
Thereafter, bloody civil conflict wracked Home, as Eridani strongmen and their armies clashed over who would lead, and who would follow. Torrents of blood flowed down narrow streets and into gutters. Finally, in 2171, Jan Kotlan's Black Banner Army emerged victorious, planting its flag in the Red City and gradually extending control over all of Home by might and guile, in turn. Piotr Akul, Ahab Dostan, Bruk Havish and other famous revolutionaries were brought into the fold, becoming key figures in the new regime. Together, they ushered in an era of centralized Eridani home rule, based on an egalitarian code of conduct known as the Eridex. Elections were eventually held, giving local bravos a voice to represent their kin. Things gradually settled down, and the Eridani returned to what they do best: work hard, follow the law, stand proud (if not always tall).
Fearing the return of the Earthers, the burgeoning Eridani Authority reverse engineered what they could of the technology left behind during the Revolution and have begun the arduous task of re-creating a Type-1 civilization from near-scratch. Fission/fusion reactors have been brought online and Home does not want for power. Its mineral riches have been funneled into giving the Authority the ability to reach for the stars; to extend Eridani strength - and to perhaps discover why Earth remains silent. Even if only to preempt the attack all of Home fears is coming.
This is most desirable, we agree to the embassy. Is the alliance confirmed then?In response to this friendly gesture, the Unified Jarotamar Ecumene send an embassy to the Scientia Autem Lugum, with hopes of joining them on their quest for knowledge and understanding.

Unknown paramilitary assailants have seized control of the UN HQ in Beijing in under an hour. Reports from civilians suggest that these assailants had very strange bodily features and uniforms they had never seen before. The whereabouts of the UN council is currently unknown, but Russian and American delegates are confirmed to have evacuated safely.
