Welcome to the Stellaris Roleplay Thread, as many are itching to play Stellaris, this may help to take some of the edge off if they are allowed act through their Favorite Empires in such a setting.

This is a roleplay forum intended for use by people who wish to do so.

Anyone can join however, please first specify your Empire and Species according to this format:

Species Name:
Species Adjective:
Empire Name:
Empire Adjective:
Phenotype:
Traits:
Ethos:
Government:
Homeworld:
Planet type:
Short Description of Species:
Short Description of Empire and History:

This link shows the current political situation of the galaxy. Here.

As well I will post my Empire and Species that I intend to roleplay as in this thread below, this also provides us a opportunity to show the kind information that would go into each category.

Species Name: Ur-Quan Kzer-Za
Species Adjective: Ur-Quan Kzer-Za
Empire Name: Ur-Quan Hierarchy
Empire Adjective: Ur-Quan
Phenotype: Arthropod
Traits: Solitary, Decadent, Intelligent, Conformists.
Ethos: Fanatic Militarists and Xenophobe
Government: Military Junta
Homeworld: Unknown
Planet type: Tropical

Short Description of Species: The Ur-Quan Kzer-Za resemble externally a green, 10-meter-long and 2-meter-thick variation of the predatory caterpillars native to Earth's Hawaiian Islands. They have long, multisegmented bodies with four arms protruding from the frontal segment; they also have clawed legs on the posterior section of their bodies, which they use for clinging to the ceiling, while the anterior legs are longer and can function as grippers and manipulators. The Ur-Quan's most anterior body segment, or its head, possesses a plethora of sensory organs. Unlike many sentient species, the Ur-Quan were not social animals; they were, instead, solitary hunters, with all of their very limited repertoire of social instincts relegated to the field of reproduction.

Short Description of Empire and History: The Ur-Quan evolved on a harsh, hostile world. The Ur-Quan eventually learned to harness nuclear energy, and used this technology to create vehicles capable of traveling through interplanetary space. Having begun to explore their solar system, they were contacted by the Sentient Milieu. The Ur-Quan soon registered as Sentient Milieu members and, were eager to find a useful role within the Milieu cooperative. The found a new role as solitary scouts as their intense territoriality prevented them from other tasks. Unfortunately for the Ur-Quan they discovered the Dnyarri a race of psychic slavers and the Dnyarri managed to enslave the entire Milieu after seizing the mind of an Ur-Quan scout.

After twenty five centuries, the Dnyarri grew lax in their dominance, and loosened the mental chains connecting them with their slaves, at times even allowing temporary moments of self-control. It was discovered that the Dnyarri released their hold when a subject was near death or in great pain. A massive slave revolt arose. Driven by a deep, core conviction that their enslavement was an aberration that must never happen again, and that had been allowed to happen by the Ur-Quan's weakness in allowing other species to exist freely, they established two radical, different paths to ensure their eternal freedom. The Green Ur-Quan, as natural administrators, came up with a sophisticated blueprint for future cultural development known as the Path of Now and Forever. They named their new civilization the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za after the martyred scientist-hero, and were able to construct a unique form of force field called a slave shield, with which they hoped to eventually contain all species that would not actively submit to Ur-Quan dominance.

Species Name: Axtromd
Species Adjective: Axtromd
Empire Name: Khendros (or the Khendros Empire if you will, but Khendros really just means "The State" and will do fine)
Empire Adjective: Khendros
Phenotype: Reptiles (not entirely decided yet, seeing as they are something of a cross between insects (outward exoskeleton and four eyes), reptiles (in terms of mouths, claws etc) and birds (in terms of general proportions)
Traits: Intelligent, natural engineers, slow breeders
Ethos: collectivist, materialist, militarist
Government: despotic hegemony
Homeworld: Khemenos
Planet type: tundra world
Short Description of Species: a previously nomadic group of dinosaur-like beings who have survived the harsh climate through cunning, ruthlessness and technological adaptability.
Short Description of Empire and History: The species has since then decided to unite under worldspanning government working for the good of the society and under the many new technological developments they have reached the space age and found other species, these species are, without an exception, seen as woefull primitives (even those who have reached the space age) that need to be "enlightened" (through force if nedessary) to realise their full potential and become productive members of society, the ultimate goal of any individual as far as they are concerned. To ensure that no problems arise they often relocate more subversive elements of society to more mellow places to ensure that they conform to the group example instead of conspiring together. They are positive towards all research, including AI, whom they see as yet another lifeform that may become productive members of the society assuming that they fullfill their optimal field, in fact there have been many examples of AI with higher rank and status than many organic members, including Axtromd.

By the way, to everyone: if you want to see the previous story that we take of from go and read The Blorg: A clear and present danger up until page 19.

[Hey, a question. Are there any knightly limits on empire tech level? In the previous thread I intended to add some plot things by basically RP'ing as a few suddenly appearing artifacts from my extreme-high-tech-level species so that you'd have stuff to interact with other than your species' egos, but I don't want to break your experience, because you might have other intentions]

Not really a problem, just saying that your species is literally omnipotent is boring but there have been interactions between different levels of power.

[Anything goes but keep it fair, not so much that people will ban you, but people would rather ignore someone who has a completly unfair advantage in every situation, so just keep it fair and there should be no problems. :). Do as you wish but try to not railroad people into a course allow them a out that makes it so even if they screw things up they can still reasonably roleplay.]

Aka "using stars as building material if needed level of tech". But I don't intend to get them to interact physically, mostly through artifacts and other stuff they left there.]

[Okay seems like there won't be any problems here, also the phrase your looking for is Stellar Architecture, using stars or other celestial bodies in construction of an object or device. As well it might be a good Idea to have a race or empire of more equivalent technology so as to not be forced into always being fairly aloof or distant from other roleplayers.]

[i cant think of my Species name or my Empire name]

Several strategies would be to if it is similar to an Earth animal find that animal's name in a different language and modify it into a form you like better. Or you could modify one of the name you can generate here. In the fantasy section there is a species name generator you could use that.

Species Name: Kahesh
Species Adjective: Kaheshi
Empire Name: Crownship of Sa
Empire Adjective: Saen
Phenotype: Arthropoid upload_2016-4-16_20-9-59.png
Traits: Intelligent, Sedentary, Enduring
Ethos: Pacifist, Fanatic Materialist
Government: Enlightened Monarchy
Homeworld: Kahesh
Planet type: Ocean-World

Short Description of Species:
The Kaheshi are bipedal Crustaceans with a exoskeleton and the capability to absorb oxygen through it regardless of being above or below water like most Crustaceans. Kaheshi are commonly 7-8 feet tall and are bipedal with two arms and two legs, however also having a long tail most easily explained as a mix between a Lobster's tail and a serpent's tail. They possess four highly efficient finger like appendages on the hands on both of their arms.

Short Description of Empire and History:
580 years ago that the Kingdom of Hra’Vrofak discovered a source of energy through the use of a Volcanic island with contraptions to store steam and gasses. This sudden discovery led to a rapid industrialization as methods of forging and metallurgy spread. However wars also began to seize these few and valuable Volcanic islands as a source of this now valued energy source. Technological progress boomed at an exceptional rate never seen before.

Around 210 years ago the Kaheshi as a species began uniting closer in form as technology advanced at a rapid rate leading them into a digital age which led to an effective globalisation. Rationalism became the prime thought amongst the Kaheshi and thanks to the globalisation, conflicts began to die down, leading them into an era of peace and prosperity guided by the monarchies that spanned the globe.

The Kaheshi are a very rational culture and race, who however softened by generations of peace do not see interest in armed conflict lest in self-defence, technological prowess and the safety and well being of the citizens is the prime concern of the leadership of the Kaheshi.

Dawning into the era of FTL travel it seemed only logical for the Kaheshi to unite behind one common leader, as such the King of Hra’Vrofak was declared the Monarch of the newly founded and united High-Crownship of Sa. Ready to lead their people into a hopefully bright and prosperous future amongst the Stars.

[Will this do?]

In the court of the Crownship of Sa

The Advisors and scientists, burecrats, enlightened nobility who work hard for the betterment of its citizens have gathered. King Kra'Ves the High-Crowned ruler of the System of Sa and the Kaheshi sits contemplating the descision brought up on him, this proposal, noble advisors from the admiralry and the Royal Army implore the King to not accept but seek a deal of more equal grounding as not to give up sovereignty to a foreign power.

A large portion of the scientists support the idea of submission to this Khendros Empire...As with many of the Bureacracy. But the thought of submission to another foreign power would destroy the peoples morale, and their belief in the Crown being able to provide for them, to keep the peace, to ensure prosperity...

the Arguements spring forth...Until the King rises. They all look to their monarch, kneeling. "The people need to hear, the people will decide, until then. Send a counte proposal" Several of the bureacrats rush up and prepare their personal datapads to write down the kings response.

"Contributing to a foreign society we do not know seems risky, indeed in such a foreign landscape of politics as is the void between our stars and worlds. Perhaps proof of your society in person, would help my consideration."

The nobility bows and salutes their king before dispersing, he sits down contemplating what is to come.

We could send proof of what you want, we may deploy a fleet to your system so that you may see our technology and efficiency, if it is the sciety you wish to see you may accept our proposal of relocation in which you will send people to and reciee people from all the corners of our empire to see the efficiency of our society. If you want proof of our noble intentions you may ask the United Systems Alliance about our honorable dealings with them.
