Stellaris Pricing on Steam vs Paradox store

I live in New Zealand and I bought Stellaris expansion Utopia on Paradox store to support Paradox, only to find out that Steam is cheaper (NZD 23.99) than on Paradox store (USD 19.99) at NZD 1 = USD 0.668.

I am very sad... Next time I'll just stick to Steam....

About 5 NZD/3 USD difference.

And probably because the prices were set when 23.99 NZD was a closer equivalent to 19.99 USD.

It's even much cheaper if you are in Russia or China.(Like 30% off vs USD price) Because, steam accepts local currency in those countries while Paradox is unable to. (The cost to transfer those currency may be not worth the effort.)
But, Tencent owns 5% of Paradox. Maybe, Paradox will accept CNY as a store currency one day. Anyone wants a VPN?

I doubt at any point in recent time the NZD was that strong against the USD.
USD 3 out of USD 20 is 15%, that's nothing to scoff at
