Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I had some leftover Hangar Battleships from before I researched X weapons. Decided to toss them into a Mining Drone system to get rid of them. Watched the first battleship die as expected. Then the drones got the second battleship down to around 20% shields... then they backed off and started tightly orbiting a point about 100 'range' away from my battleship, far outside the range of their own weapons while being inside my own L and H weapons' range.

I made a save file as soon as I noticed this happening, then watched as my (2k power) battleship killed every single drone in the entire system very slowly without taking any damage in return. The drones had started out being quite willing to chase it down, but once this started happening, they never stopped.

I can imagine circumstances where this isn't actually a bug (maybe all of the remaining ships are point-defense ships and have their role set to attempt to intercept incoming strike ships? But I looked at all the role modules and I don't think any of them would behave this way), but when I uploaded the video into the Stellaris discord, the consensus was that I should make a bug report just in case.

Here is a video of the behavior, which I can't upload as an attachment: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ceeyjrprrx86936/stellaris_T763p9xbSP.mp4?dl=0

I am using TinyOutliner v2, Tier Numbers: Tech, and Tiny Fleets, all of which are UI mods that do not change the core gameplay. I tried loading the (attached) savefile with these mods disabled; I got a warning about missing expected mods, but the game still played fine, and I still see this behavior.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
1) Load up the attached savefile
2) Navigate to the "Walzirin" system and observe the ongoing fight between the "H Bship"-class battleship and the mining drones
3) Unpause

As far as reproducing this issue in other circumstances, I'm not sure. I haven't seen it at other times. That said, this is my first game since 3.1 and perhaps it's actually pretty common. A quick search of the forum didn't find any duplicate bug reports, however.
