Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
All of my Nu-Baol pops disappeared after applying species template, and now when new Nu-Baol are cyberneticly assimilated they disappear as well.

I finished the Nu-Baol origin and started terraforming wolds very early. Later, I started the cybernetic ascension path. The Nu-Baol ascended with me and were named "Nu-Baol Superior". Later I terraformed more wolds and got more pops. These I assimilated normally and everything was fine, except they were named simply "Nu-Baol", not "Nu-Baol Superior".

To unify the names, I applied the "Nu-Baol Superior" template to the cybernetic "Nu-Baol" pops. That seemed to work, but I did not confirm pop totals.

Then I thought that it might be tedious to have to re-apply the templates, so the next time I had some assimilated "Nu-Baol", I instead applied that template to my "Nu-Baol Superior" pops. All species traits were the same. Shortly thereafter I noticed that all of my Nu-Baol pops were gone. Now, whenever I assimilate new "Nu-Baol" pops, they disappear as well.

I might have been in process of assimilating more "Nu-Baol" when I applied the template to my "Nu-Baol Superior" pops.

I will attach save files from before and after my pops disappeared.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Use the Nu-Baol terraforming decision to get a Gaia world and Nu-Baol pops.

Follow the Cybernetic ascension path and convert all pops to cybernetic.

Terraform new worlds and assimilate more Nu-Baol

The newly assimilated Nu-Baol species will be identical to the previously converted pops, except for the name.

Apply the species template for the cybernetic "Nu-Baol" species (without name update) to the cybernetic Nu-Baol pops with the updated name. You may have to do this while also actively assimilating non-cybernetic Nu-Baol.

I've noticed that any pops I assimilate to cybernetic gets marked as undesirable and is purged, unless I catch it soon enough. I checked my species default settings, and Undesirable is not the default.
